Age checks and your pictures

Attune is for adults aged 18 or older. A camera or age estimate can make mistakes and does not prove someone is safe.

The current process

  1. Complete a camera challenge. Cloudflare Workers AI processes the challenge photographs.
  2. You can skip the AI age estimate. When used, it can approve only an apparent-age range starting at 25 or older, no wider than 15 years, with additional image checks. This is an estimate, not verified date of birth.
  3. Other passing camera attempts go to a human reviewer. Picture-only approval requires the reviewer to judge you clearly 25 or older and a qualifying AI range with a lower bound at least 18 and upper bound at least 25.
  4. If more evidence is needed, the reviewer can request a licence photograph through the app, or arrange an in-person or live-video check. Never email ID. Only upload when the app asks; cover unrelated details where possible. A licence photo is not checked against government records.

Help with a check

If you cannot use the camera or provide the requested document, contact [email protected] to discuss an alternative assessment. Do not submit someone else’s evidence. Access requiring adult approval remains closed until eligibility is established.

Storage and deletion

Pictures needed for review are stored privately, separately from the account database. Reviewers can access them for the check. The app removes them when a decision is completed, when replaced or when the account is deleted. Undecided review pictures are scheduled for removal after 14 days; storage has a 15-day expiry backstop. Cleanup can be delayed by service failures, so we do not promise instantaneous deletion.

The account retains the review outcome, method and time; an AI pass also retains its estimated range until replaced or the account is deleted. Attune does not extract and store your licence number or date of birth as separate account fields. The uploaded image itself contains whatever details you leave visible until it is removed. Underage or incorrect decisions

Report a suspected underage account in the app or by email. A reviewer can revoke approval and suspend access. You may appeal an incorrect decision.
